Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Oktobre?

Oktobre is located at 25 rue des Grands Augustins, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris — a few steps from Odéon and the Latin Quarter.

What kind of cuisine?

A modern French cuisine d'auteur, rooted in classical foundations and seasonal produce from small artisanal growers. Chef Martin Maumet's signature lies in a patient mastery of sauces, jus and condiments — he likes to call himself a « sauce obsessive ». Yuzu kosho, harissa, 'nduja, gochujang, miso, mostarda: he draws from condiments around the world to bring character to resolutely French dishes. Gault&Millau lists Oktobre under « cuisine d'auteur ».

Menus and prices?

For lunch (Tuesday to Friday, excluding public holidays): three-course menu at €39, or two-course set at €32 (starter and main, or main and dessert).

For dinner: six-course Découverte tasting menu at €89 (amuse-bouches, starter, fish, meat, pre-dessert, dessert), with a five-glass wine pairing at €54. À la carte: starters at €20, mains from €39 to €42, cheeses and desserts at €15.

The Découverte menu is served until 1:15 PM at lunch and 9:30 PM at dinner. For groups of six or more at lunch (five or more at dinner), only the Découverte tasting menu is available. The wine list, curated by sommelier Jérémy Pepion, ranges from leading estates to rarer, more confidential allocations.

Who is Martin Maumet?

Chef and owner of Oktobre since 2023. Born in Poitou, he trained at Le Byblos in Saint-Tropez and then at Le Jules Verne (Ducasse group), before joining William Ledeuil in 2013 at Kitchen Galerie Bis, where he became associate chef at 22. In 2023, he succeeded Ledeuil and took over the premises at 25 rue des Grands Augustins to open Oktobre.

Cuisine d'auteur, fine dining or bistronomic?

Martin Maumet doesn't claim to run a fine-dining establishment, but offers a signed, exacting cuisine d'auteur — more accessible than a Michelin-starred table, as the €39 lunch menu illustrates. Gault&Millau lists him under « cuisine d'auteur », and Le Monde headlined his signature: « a cuisine for every sauce ».
